Sir: It is not Prince Edward's fault that he is the child of Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh. It is not his fault that three royal marriages have failed ahead of him. So give the lad a chance and have the decency to wish him well. After all it is not everyone who is born to become editor of The Independent and to show such a churlish attitude towards the Royal Family.
