Sir: I have read many deep letters and articles in The Independent about the political and financial implications of the Euro, but for us ordinary punters the sort of thing that really matters is what do we get for change for a loaf of bread costing, say, 0.55 of a euro? Will the shopkeeper say "Here is 0.45 of a euro" or "Here are 45 eurolings/ euroettes or eurowhatevers?
