Tracks, film review: Mia Wasikowska is well cast in this epic adventure across Australia
(12A) John Curran, 113 mins Starring: Mia Wasikowska, Adam Driver
Tracks is a stirring and beautifully shot account of the author Robyn Davidson's real-life journey by camel across the Australian outback.
Mia Wasikowska is very well cast as Davidson, capturing her intrepid tomboy side and her sensitivity.
Some of the humour about the bad-tempered camels and her abrasive relationship with the photographer (Adam Driver) who follows her journey feels a little forced and the film occasionally strays into Crocodile Dundee-like crudity.
At its best, though, Tracks has both lyricism and a real epic quality.
