The Diameter of the Bomb (12A)

This sombre and rather chilling documentary examines a specific terrorist attack - the suicide bombing of a Jerusalem bus in June 2002 - from multiple angles. Israeli forensic footage, Hamas military video and news coverage are interwoven with personal testimony from doctors, firemen, paramedics and those who survived or had loved ones killed in the blast.

Most surprising of all is the inquiry into the family of the suicide bomber himself, a counterbalance to the weight of Israeli sympathy and a reminder, if any were needed, of the intractable nature of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The bomber's driver, now in prison, is unrepentant.
