DVD: The Help

In Mississippi in the early 1960s, Emma Stone decides to attempt to compile a book of interviews with the black maids who work in her friends' mansions, primarily Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer (who won an Oscar).

You keep waiting for her risky enterprise to backfire on all concerned, but it proves to be ridiculously easy. No drama about racial oppression has ever been quite so soft and fluffy.
