Tom Cruise waves at people from atop speeding train while filming dangerous Mission: Impossible 7 stunt

Tom Cruise has been filmed waving to fans from atop a speeding train while filming Mission: Impossible 7 in Norway.

Filming recently resumed on the project, a sequel to 2018’s acclaimed thriller Mission: Impossible – Fallout, having been on production hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a video shared to the social media site TikTok, the 58-year-old action star can be seen perched on the roof of the fast-moving vehicle, delivering a casual greeting to fans.

Alongside Cruise, a filming crew is also visible, as well as Mission: Impossible 7 director Christopher McQuarrie.

Cruise has a reputation for performing his own stunts, and the Mission: Impossible franchise has seen the actor engage in a number of death-defying sequences. 

Fallout saw Cruise become the first actor in history to complete a risky “Halo jump” skydive, and the star also suffered a nasty injury while jumping across rooftops.

Last month, McQuarrie shared a photo on Twitter teasing a stunt from the forthcoming film.

The photo depicts a makeshift track constructed high in the mountains, along which Cruise had to ride a motorcycle.

As well as the next Mission: Impossible film, Cruise is also set to become the first actor to star in a blockbuster film shot in space.

The as-yet-unnamed film will see Cruise collaborate with Nasa and Elon Musk’s SpaceX project, with a view to film in space around October 2021.
