Zac Efron plays serial killer Ted Bundy in first trailer for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile
The film is just about to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival
The first trailer for the Ted Bundy thriller starring Zac Efron as the serial murderer has been released.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is premiering on Saturday, 26 January at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
The trailer was released on Friday ahead of the worldwide premiere, giving viewers a first look at Efron’s performance as the serial killer.
Efron’s Bundy can be seen in the clip interacting with his girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins, representing himself in court, jumping through a building window during an escape and at one point declaring: “I’m more popular than Disney World.”
The trailer, peppered with electric guitar riffs, refers to Bundy as “America’s most notorious serial killer”.
Metallica’s James Hetflied appears as Officer Bob Hayward.
The release of the trailer comes the day after the debut of Netflix’s documentary Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy tapes.
Real-life Bundy confessed to killing 30 women and girls across seven states, though the actual extent of his crimes remains unknown.
