Leonardo DiCaprio has become the latest celebrity to donate money to the Storm Harvey relief effort, matching the $1 million (£775,000) given by Sandra Bullock.
The Revenant actor pledged the money to the newly established United Way Harvey Recovery Fund, part of United Way Worldwide, the largest privately funded non-profit organisation in the United States.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of Leonardo DiCaprio and his foundation,” CEO Brian Gallagher said. “Responding to Hurricane Harvey requires the best of all of us — and that’s what this gift represents.”
DiCaprio has previously helped with disaster relief, donating to the victims of the Indian Boxing Day tsunami in 2004, the 2010 Haiti earthquake, and 2012 Hurricane Sandy.

Other celebrities to have donated to those affected by Storm Harvey include Beyoncé, the Rock, Ruby Rose, Ellen Degeneres, the Kardashians, and Fall Out Boy.
The most recent death-toll for Harvey was 31, the number set to soar as water levels across the Huston area recede. The National Hurricane Center has since downgraded the storm to a Tropical Depression.
