Harvey Weinstein: Scotland Yard investigating sexual assault claims by seven UK women
The allegations against the disgraced film producer date back to the late 80s
British police's investigation into sexual assault and harassment claims against Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein has widened to seven
Metropolitan Police are now investigating seven allegations involving Mr. Weinstein, sources have confirmed.
Scotland Yard had previously confirmed five allegations were made relating to sexual assaults in London dating back to the late 80s.
Other alleged incidents are said to have occurred in 1992, 2010, 2011 and 2015.
Hollyoaks actress Lysette Anthony told the Metropolitan Police she was attacked by the producer in her London home in the late 1980s, while another unnamed former Miramax employee said he raped her in the basement flat of his London offices in around 1992.
Weinstein faces more than 50 allegations of sexual harassment and assault.
No arrests have been made at this stage and the disgraced movie mogul has “unequivocally” denied all claims of non-consensual sex.
Earlier today (31 October), Weinstein received a lifetime ban from Producers Guild of America following a unanimous vote from members.
