Ben Affleck looks like he means serious crime-fighting business as Batman in the latest official photo from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The iconic superhero is seen in a different, grittier outfit in the picture, shared on Instagram by the movie's on-set photographer Clay Enos.

Fans enjoyed the first sneak peek at this costume when the new trailer was shown at Comic-Con over the weekend. Batman is seen battling Superman's soldiers in the dust in a more combat-friendly get-up.

Affleck stars alongside Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther in the upcoming Warner Bros blockbuster.

Hopes were raised that Batman v Superman may involve a surprise appearance by Jared Leto, who will next be seen as The Joker in Suicide Squad, about DC Comics' supervillains, after the trailer showed Robin's suit seemingly tagged by the evil character.
