A good day for:

Jeanne Calment, the world's oldest person, who cut her first disc at the age of 120. The CD, on which she tells stories about her life, will be released on her 121st birthday in a week's time. She will spend the proceeds on buying a coach for her old people's home.

A bad day for:

The All-Blacks, with a report from Wellington, New Zealand, that staunch male attitudes are the reason men have shorter life spans than women. "Toughing it out" and ignoring symptoms of disease is a male attitude believed to be particularly prevalent in New Zealand.
