Anchor Clever is being aimed at the season's final Classic, the St Leger, after losing his maiden tag with a win at Salisbury yesterday.
Paul Kelleway, who trains the colt, refused to accept that yesterday's victory was a long way off the required standard for September's race. "He was beaten nine lengths in the Italian Derby last time, so you can't fault Group One form," he said.
