The body of an angler was recovered from Loch Lomond last night but his companion was still missing, feared drowned.

Police divers recovered the body after a dinghy was found capsized. The men are believed to be members of a local angling club. The search is due to resume at daybreak today.

Meanwhile, a search for a man missing after eight canoeists ran into a squall off the Irish coast at Dunmore East, Co Waterford, was called off as darkness fell. The body of a 14-year-old boy was found earlier.
