John Hume was yesterday admitted to Altnagelvin Hospital in his home town of Londonderry. He is expected to stay there for several days for tests, but was not believed to have had a heart attack although it is understood he was initially admitted to the coronary care unit. He said recently that he had lost two stone, which he attributed to the strain of recent events.
