TAKING STOCK

rMemory Corporation, which is developing a system for revitalising defective computer chips, is having a rousing time on the soon-to-disappear 4.2 market. Yesterday its shares rose 24p to 264p. They were floated last year at 45p. The latest excitement stems from the likelihood that Microsoft's Window 95 system will sharply increase the demand for chips; hopes of a big US order, probably from Texas Instruments, and a move to AIM in the next few weeks.

rEnviromed, the healthcare group, has ended takeover talks with representatives of its management and another party. But talks are now, it says, taking place with another interested group which, the market assumes, is prepared to pay more than the management team. The shares rose 4p to 40p. They were floated at 110p two years ago.
