The AA's insurance arm will provide a hire car to members paying more than pounds 600 for motor cover whose car is stolen and not recovered within 24 hours. Those paying this amount can join the Tracker network, where a tracing device is fitted to their car. The AA claims that 96 per cent of cars fitted with Tracker are recovered within an average of just over four hours.
