Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush has been ruled out of Sunday's derby against Manchester United due to a knee injury.
The 26-year-old sustained the injury while on international duty with Egypt during their World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso.
Initial scans conducted in Cairo confirmed his unavailability for the upcoming Manchester derby.
Marmoush will return to Manchester for further assessment and to begin his rehabilitation, with no timeframe yet set for his return.
His injury adds to a growing list of concerns for Manchester City, who have several other players sidelined or doubtful ahead of a busy fixture schedule.
