  • Erik ten Hag, former Manchester United manager, has been appointed as Bayer Leverkusen's new head coach.
  • Ten Hag signed a contract until June 30, 2027, replacing Xabi Alonso, who moved to Real Madrid.
  • At Manchester United, Ten Hag won the League Cup and FA Cup but was sacked after a poor start to the 2024/25 season.
  • Ten Hag aims to build on Leverkusen's recent success and compete for top honors in the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal, and Champions League.
  • He previously managed Ajax, winning three Eredivisie titles, and has experience at other clubs like Go Ahead Eagles, Bayern Munich II, and Utrecht.
