  • Raducanu, who has been managing a back problem, expressed her pride in fighting back and thanked the crowd for their support.
  • She called the match “tough” but “found another gear and another level” to claim victory
  • Her victory sets up a second-round match against 19-year-old Australian Maya Joint, who previously knocked out Ons Jabeur.
  • In another women's match, British player Harriet Dart lost to reigning Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova 6-3, 6-7 (4), 7-5, despite having two match points.
