  • Zarah Sultana has instructed defamation lawyers following what she describes as "baseless attacks" and "false and defamatory statements" concerning the launch of Your Party's membership portal.
  • Ms Sultana maintains that the membership portal was properly launched, that members' data was not misused, and all funds received were appropriately ringfenced and protected.
  • Jeremy Corbyn, the Independent MP, labelled the membership portal launched by Ms Sultana as an "unauthorised email" and advised supporters to cancel any direct debits, stating that legal advice was being taken.
  • Ms Sultana claims she was "sidelined" and "frozen out" by other MPs, leading her to launch the portal to ensure supporter engagement, and alleges she has been subjected to a "sexist boys' club".
  • The fledgling political party has reported itself to the UK's data protection watchdog, claiming a "false membership system" was unilaterally launched, and denied that Ms Sultana had been excluded from discussions.
