Which households are eligible for £150 discount on energy bills
Warm Home Discount: Martin Lewis explains what it is and how to qualify
The government is urging households to check their eligibility for the expanded Warm Home Discount scheme.
The scheme offers a one-off £150 discount on domestic energy bills, automatically applied between October and March.
Around six million people are expected to receive the payment this winter, an increase of 2.7 million from last year.
Eligibility now requires the bill payer to receive an eligible means-tested benefit and be named on the energy bill.
Energy suppliers will check eligibility based on records as of 24 August, meaning households have a limited time to ensure correct details are on their bill to receive the discount promptly.
