Four dead as Ukraine bombarded with drones and missiles
Destruction in Kyiv after deadly Russian attack
A Russian drone and missile attack on Ukraine killed four people, including a 12-year-old girl, and injured at least 70 others, with Kyiv suffering the heaviest bombardment.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the "vile" 12-hour assault, which involved nearly 600 drones and several dozen missiles, and vowed that Ukraine "will strike back".
The attack also affected other regions including Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv and Odesa, with three children injured in Zaporizhzhia.
Nato announced it would upgrade its mission in the Baltic Sea, including Denmark, following reports of drone incursions, while Germany will provide military support for an upcoming EU summit in Copenhagen.
Russia's defence ministry stated it carried out a "massive" attack on Ukraine's military infrastructure, leading to Poland deploying fighter jets as targets in western Ukraine were struck.
