Trump takes aim at London mayor in wide-ranging UN rant
- President Donald Trump has addressed the 80th UN General Assembly in New York, his first appearance since the beginning of his second term.
- In a wide-ranging rant, he criticized the United Nations' management, whilst also asserting that Christianity is the "most persecuted religion on the planet today."
- Trump dismissed efforts to mitigate climate change as a "green energy scam" and a "hoax," and labelled "uncontrolled migration" as the "number one political issue," citing the UK as an example.
- He said London, under its “terrible” mayor Sadiq Khan, is headed towards Sharia law.
- He also claimed the war in Ukraine would not have started under his presidency and criticised Hamas for rejecting ceasefire offers in Gaza.
