Trump vows to end mail-in voting by 2026 midterm elections
AOC: Mail-in voter fraud less likely than being 'struck by lightning'
President Donald Trump has announced his intention to lead a movement to eliminate mail-in voting and the use of voting machines before the 2026 midterm elections.
He reiterated baseless claims of election rigging, accusing Democratic officials of cheating, and stating his plan to sign an executive order to "bring HONESTY" to upcoming elections.
Trump falsely claimed that states, which administer elections, are merely "agents" for the Federal Government and must comply with the president's directives.
A ban on mail-in and absentee ballots would prevent military personnel, disabled voters, and those unable to vote in person from casting ballots, despite nearly a third of 2024 ballots being submitted by mail.
Trump's election lies have been central to criminal cases and the January 6 Capitol violence.
