The capsule, intended to remain buried for hundreds of years, contained a Kylie Minogue CD, a solar-powered calculator, and a pocket TV – items chosen through a Blue Peter competition.
It was dug up early to allow for the construction of a new Children’s Cancer Centre at the hospital.
The new centre is designed to be a national resource for the treatment of childhood cancers, providing kinder and more effective treatments.
Its development is part of GOSH Charity's biggest-ever fundraising drive, aiming to raise £300 million.
