What Max Verstappen said after Christian Horner’s Red Bull exit
Christian Horner sacked as Red Bull F1 boss
Christian Horner was immediately relieved of his duties as Red Bull team principal on Wednesday morning.
Max Verstappen, who secured four world championships under Horner's leadership, thanked him on Instagram for their shared successes.
Despite holding a contract until 2028, Verstappen has been linked with a move to Mercedes, but Sky F1 pundit Martin Brundle suggests Horner's departure makes it more probable Verstappen will remain at Red Bull.
Brundle also noted that Horner was not provided with a clear reason for his dismissal, speculating it could be performance-related or personal.
Laurent Mekies, previously of Racing Bulls, will assume the role of Red Bull team principal for the forthcoming Belgian Grand Prix.
