Children’s photos and names ‘stolen’ in nursery cyber hack
Jaguar Land Rover production ‘severely disrupted’ by cyberattack
Cyberhackers, identifying as Radiant, reportedly stole sensitive information from the Kido nursery chain, affecting approximately 8,000 children.
The stolen data includes children's pictures, names, addresses, safeguarding notes, and details of their parents and carers.
Radiant has published some of the stolen data, including profiles and pictures of 10 children, on their darknet website and is demanding a ransom.
The Metropolitan Police's Cyber Crime Unit is investigating the ransomware attack, which was referred to them on Thursday, with no arrests made yet.
A parent expressed distress over the children being “completely innocent victims”, while the National Cyber Security Centre condemned the act as “particularly egregious.”
