Iran says US ‘crossed very big red line’ after Trump’s nuclear facility strikes
Iran accuses Trump of lying to his voters and betraying democracy
The United States launched strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities (Fordo, Isfahan, and Natanz) early Sunday, inserting itself into Israel’s war aimed at destroying Iran's nuclear program.
Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that the US had crossed a "very big red line" by attacking nuclear facilities and declared diplomacy was no longer an option.
Following the US attacks, Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard retaliated by firing 40 missiles at Israel, causing injuries and significant damage to a building in Tel Aviv.
Satellite images analysed by The Associated Press showed damage to the Fordo facility’s entryways, while the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran confirmed attacks but insisted its nuclear program would continue.
The strikes, which involved bunker-buster bombs and Tomahawk missiles, prompted international calls for diplomacy and raised fears of a wider regional conflict, with Donald Trump asserting Iran's key nuclear sites were "completely and fully obliterated."
