Police investigate suspected restaurant arson attack

  • Three people are in a life-threatening condition after a suspected arson attack at a restaurant in Ilford, east London, on Friday night.
  • Police, paramedics, and firefighters were called to the scene on Woodford Avenue, Gants Hill, about 9pm.
  • Emergency services rescued five people from the restaurant, while nine others managed to evacuate before their arrival.
  • All five injured individuals, including three women and two men, were taken to hospital, with three remaining in a life-threatening state.
  • No arrests have been made, and the cause of the blaze is currently under investigation by the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police.
