Pope Leo XIV has canonised Carlo Acutis, a London-born computer prodigy who died in 2006, as the Catholic Church's first millennial saint.
Carlo, dubbed "God's influencer", was known for using his computer skills to create a website documenting Eucharistic miracles, spreading faith online.
The open-air Mass in St Peter's Square on Sunday drew tens of thousands, with many young attendees seeing the 15-year-old as a relatable modern role model.
Alongside Carlo, Pope Leo also canonised Pier Giorgio Frassati, an Italian figure known for his devotion to serving the poor.
The canonisations, originally delayed by Pope Francis's death, were strongly advocated by Francis, who believed such figures were crucial for attracting young Catholics.
