The Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands (PA)
  • The UK's longest and tallest toboggan ride is scheduled to open in the Scottish Highlands in summer 2026.
  • The £1.2m project in the Cairngorms mountain range will feature a 1.2km track, reaching 715m above sea level.
  • Cairngorm Mountain (Scotland) Limited (CMSL) is developing the dual-rider toboggan, which will utilise existing ski tow and mountain bike trails.
  • The ride is designed to operate from spring to autumn, with minimal environmental impact and easy seasonal installation and removal.
  • The initiative aims to attract more families to the area and extend the visitor season beyond winter sports, drawing inspiration from similar European and North American attractions.
