India launched airstrikes within Pakistan territory, claiming to target terrorist camps in response to a deadly attack in India-administered Kashmir.
Pakistan condemned the strikes as an "act of War" and vowed to retaliate, stating they shot down Indian aircraft. The strikes killed 31 people in Pakistan, including women and children.
The incident marks the first attack on Pakistan's most populous province since the two countries last engaged in War and significantly escalates tensions between the nuclear-armed nations.
Kashmir, a region claimed by both countries, remains the focal point of the conflict. International concern is mounting, with calls for de-escalation and dialogue.
The airstrikes caused widespread flight cancellations and diversions across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe as airlines rerouted to avoid Pakistani airspace.
