New floating lido coming to London

An Olympic-sized lido is planned for Canary Wharf
An Olympic-sized lido is planned for Canary Wharf (Canary Wharf Group)
  • Canary Wharf Group is set to submit plans in September for a floating, Olympic-sized lido in Eden Dock, located in the heart of the financial district.
  • Developed in partnership with Sea Lanes, the team behind the UK's first National Open Water Swimming Centre, the natural water lido is projected to open in summer 2026, subject to planning permission.
  • The proposed complex will include a fully lifeguarded, six-lane pool with a fixed depth of 1.3 metres, alongside saunas, a community clubhouse, fitness classes, and restaurants.
  • The development is part of Canary Wharf Group's ongoing strategy to transform the area from an exclusive financial hub into a vibrant neighbourhood offering diverse leisure and entertainment options.
  • The initiative builds on the success of Eden Dock's existing open water swimming venue, which contributed to a record 70 million visitors to Canary Wharf in 2024.
