Barack Obama opens up about challenges in his marriage to Michelle
Obamas Squash Divorce Rumors
Barack Obama has openly discussed the challenges within his 32-year marriage to Michelle Obama, stating he is now on “level ground” after previously being in a “deep deficit.”
His comments follow earlier remarks in April, where he admitted trying to “dig myself out of that hole” by doing “occasionally fun things” for his wife.
Michelle addressed speculation about their marriage, clarifying that her decision to skip events like Jimmy Carter's funeral and Donald Trump's inauguration was a personal choice, not indicative of marital issues.
She criticized societal pressure on women to conform, noting that her independent decisions were wrongly interpreted as signs of divorce.
The couple, who have two daughters, Malia and Sasha, recently joked about the “rumor mill” regarding their relationship during an appearance on Michelle and Craig Robinson’s podcast, IMO.
