Elton John reveals he turned his kneecaps into ‘timeless’ jewelry pieces
Sir Elton John remains 'optimistic'
Elton John revealed in his new documentary, Touched By Gold, that he had his kneecaps turned into jewelry after undergoing a double knee replacement in 2024.
The singing legend asked his surgeon to keep the removed kneecaps, which were then given to jewelry designer Theo Fennell.
Fennell explained the process of baking and polishing the porous bone fragments before framing them in gold.
John's right kneecap was transformed into a necklace, inscribed with the Latin phrase 'I will no longer bow to any man', while his left kneecap became a brooch.
John, who retired from touring in 2023, joked about his numerous past procedures, stating 'there's not much of me left' but expressing satisfaction with ending his career on a high note.
