Nicholas Barber, the Independent on Sunday critic, has won the inaugural Allen Wright Award at this year's Edinburgh Festival. The prize, named in honour of the Scotsman newspaper's late (and much-admired) former Arts Editor, is given to the year's best young critic working on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
